Ground Guidelines
USE OF TRAINING GROUNDS:
Because the club does not
own training grounds, Thunderstruck Retrievers allows
club members to train on their property when it is available
during weeknights and weekends. Members will be given
contact information for the owner/s so they can call/text
for permission to train on grounds and set up a training
time in advance.
Club members are encouraged
to contact each other for training. When training, each
person/group is responsible for bringing their own training
equipment, birds, and workers. Live flyers may be purchased
from Thunderstruck Retrievers, if available.
Please be mindful of others
who are also training dogs and the pro trainers who lease
the property.
Please be respectful of land
owners living on the properties:
**Do not train or drive by houses and kennels. Watch for
dogs!!
**Use approaches to access training grounds and use roads.
Do not drive on the alfalfa!
HELPING WITH CLUB ACTIVITIES:
Club members are encouraged
to participate in club activities, to help at club trials
and tests, and to work on scheduled work days. The club
only functions with full support of all its members at
these events.
2022 Events: June 10-12 Hunt
Test with O/H Qualifying, July 29-31 Field Trial, August
19-21 Hunt Test with O/H Qualifying, September 30-October
2 Field Trial.
KEEPING GROUNDS CLEAN:
Members shall pick up and
dispose of cans, shell casings, birds, and litter for
which they are responsible.
ACCIDENTS:
The Vikingland Retriever
Club or the land owners will not be liable for personal
injuries that may occur on club-leased property or other
properties that are being used for club-sponsored events.
PROFESSIONAL TRAINERS/AMATEUR
TRAINERS PAYING FOR USE OF GROUNDS
Professional trainers and
non-member amateurs pay to use/lease Thunderstruck Retriever
grounds. Unless he/she is a professional trainer that
you are paying to train your dog, most trainers expect
you will either throw birds or pay a day-training fee
in order to run their setup, use equipment, pay for birds
and workers, etc. Please work this out with the trainer
if you ask to train with him/her.
